Basketball Game Preview: Chaparral Roadrunners vs. Independent Panthers

Chaparral is 0-10 against Independent since February of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Chaparral Roadrunners will take on the Independent Panthers. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Chaparral is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 39-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Conway Springs.

Meanwhile, Independent came up short against Garden Plain on Tuesday, falling 48-26. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Owls are ranked 109th).

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-1. As for Independent, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11-1.

Chaparral was taken down by Independent 72-37 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Chaparral avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
