Baseball Game Preview: Mahar Regional Senators vs. Lenox Memorial Millionaires

The Mahar Regional Senators will head out to face off against the Lenox Memorial Millionaires at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Mahar Regional comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Mahar Regional managed to slip by Franklin County Tech the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Senators came up short against the Eagles on Thursday, falling 11-3.

Lenox Memorial never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lee on Thursday. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. With that victory, the Millionaires brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jason Sibley made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lenox Memorial is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Sibley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Lenox Memorial got a massive performance out of Robbie Bazinet, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Bazinet has hit this season. David Kirchner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Lenox Memorial now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mahar Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Mahar Regional might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Lenox Memorial when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Senators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
