Basketball Recap: Greeley West Victorious

On Saturday, the Greeley West Spartans earned a 54-44 victory over the Hinkley Thunder.

Hinkley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Holden, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 50% of Hinkley's points, marking the seventh time in a row Holden has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Lopez, who had 18 points.

Greeley West's win bumped their record up to 2-21. As for Hinkley, they dropped their record down to 0-21 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Greeley West nor Hinkley have any future games scheduled.
