Football Recap: Ridge Community Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridge Community). Everything went their way against the Frostproof Bulldogs on Thursday as the Ridge Community Bolts made off with a 30-6 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Bolts, who have now won three contests in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ridge Community to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmine McCray, who threw for 169 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.9% of her passes. McCray didn't just play on offense: she also made three total tackles and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception. Abegael Benoit was another key receiver, picking up 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Ridge Community didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jasmine Miller and McCray.

When it comes to explaining why Frostproof lost, don't look at Kylie Smith. Despite the final result, she picked up 68 receiving yards, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.

Ridge Community's record now sits at 3-1. As for Frostproof, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Ridge Community wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 39-0 loss against George Jenkins on the 4th. As for Frostproof, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Lake Placid on the 4th.
