Softball Recap: Simsboro Has No Trouble Against Red River

Simsboro won the last time they faced Red River and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by ten runs or more this season.

Jacoya Lewis was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlei Wheeler, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Simsboro hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four strikeouts batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Simsboro's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Red River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Coming up, Simsboro will face off against Choudrant at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Red River, they will welcome Ringgold at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Redskins have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
