Basketball Game Preview: Madeira Snails vs. Seton Conquistadors

The Madeira Snails will head out to face off against the Seton Conquistadors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Madeira ended up a good deal behind Episcopal and lost 48-31.

Meanwhile, Seton was able to grind out a solid win over Calvary Temple on Monday, taking the game 46-37. Given the Conquistadors' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Calvary Temple are ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. As for Madeira, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Madeira might still be hurting after the 58-35 loss they got from Seton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Madeira avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
