Softball Game Preview: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. Covenant Day Lions

The Charlotte Christian Knights will challenge the Covenant Day Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlotte Christian is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Charlotte Christian came up short against Greater Cabarrus S and fell 12-7.

Meanwhile, Covenant Day earned a 7-4 victory over Providence Day on Thursday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Alison Vandiver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Avery Houseton, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March.

Covenant Day pushed their record up to 15-4-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Charlotte Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
