Recap: Rocksprings Angoras vs. Nueces Canyon Panthers
The Rocksprings Angoras scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Nueces Canyon 100-27 at home. Rocksprings has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 22 points or more this season.
Jayden Hernandez was his usual excellent self, scoring 35 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Rocksprings' points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Rocksprings, bringing their record for this year to 20-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.6 points per game. As for Nueces Canyon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocksprings will take on Knippa at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Knippa is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Nueces Canyon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against D'Hanis at 6:30 p.m.
