Umatilla piles up the points against University

Recap: Umatilla Bulldogs vs. University Titans

The Umatilla Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 79-19 victory over University. Umatilla has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 29 points or more this season.

Umatilla's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Herva Brutus, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Brutus is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emalee Duncan, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five steals.

Umatilla is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for University, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.

Umatilla will head out on the road to take on Mount Dora at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Mount Dora: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Umatilla has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for University, University and New Smyrna Beach will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. New Smyrna Beach presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than University in Florida (New Smyrna Beach is ranked 184th, while University is ranked 633rd).
