Basketball Recap: Long Creek Comes Up Short

Long Creek won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Young Men's Leadership Academy and fell 79-24. The matchup marked the Dragons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

It was another big night for Aiden Olivarez, who went 13 of 18 on his way to 28 points and five steals for Young Men's Leadership Academy. The contest was Olivarez's 17th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Amires, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Long Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Young Men's Leadership Academy, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Long Creek and John F. Kennedy will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on December 27th. Young Men's Leadership Academy and Stockdale will compete for holiday cheer at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
