Despite the loss, Imperial still got an impressive performance from Nayeli Cardona, who had 20 digs. Cardona is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
Imperial's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5. As for Gila Ridge, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-9 record.
Imperial is on the road again on Saturday to play Escondido Charter at 10:30 a.m. As for Gila Ridge, they will venture away from home to face off against Shadow Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
