Davies Career & Tech playmaker made huge impact in all three phases of the game.

Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2023 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.

Daniel Rose of Davies Career & Tech (Lincoln) is the 2023 MaxPreps Rhode Island High School Football Player of the Year. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound senior led the Patriots to a 10-1 record and Division 4 runner-up finish.

Rose was a versatile offensive threat, piling up 2,706 all-purpose yards and 34 touchdowns. He led the state in rushing with 2,002 yards and 24 touchdowns, threw for 549 yards and seven touchdowns and hauled in 10 receptions for 155 yards and another score.

Defensively, Rose racked up over 50 tackles and two interceptions on defense while also being a dynamic return specialist.

In a 34-7 win over Smithfield (Esmond) in November, he ran 23 times for a season-high 284 yards and four touchdowns.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
