Appomattox County won the last time they faced Dan River and things went their way on Friday too. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Owen Chavis made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Appomattox County got a massive performance out of Evan Carwile, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Micah Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Appomattox County is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Dan River, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.
