Volleyball Recap: Effingham Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Effingham had to endure a four-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Centennial Chargers by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Hearts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers, too.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Effingham was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15.

Mckenzie Love paced Effingham's offense, picking up seven kills. Love got some help from Berkley Pullen and her 14 assists. Pullen also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Averie Wolfe, each putting up two.

Effingham's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Centennial, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Effingham has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Glenwood on the 13th. As for Centennial, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Graves County on the 13th.
