Baseball Recap: South-Doyle Cherokees vs. Heritage Mountaineers

After losing to Heritage the last time they met, South-Doyle decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cherokees walked away with an 8-4 win over the Mountaineers on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cherokees.

Holden Lowe made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs. South-Doyle is 5-1 when Lowe posts two or more runs, but 9-15-1 otherwise.
