Charlestown came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the New Albany Bulldogs as they made off with a 50-25 victory. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Charlestown has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for New Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Charlestown won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Oldham at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for New Albany, they and Evansville North will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
