Basketball Recap: Waggener Takes a Loss

Waggener lost against Bullitt East back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. The Waggener Wildcats fell just short of the Bullitt East Chargers by a score of 41-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Chargers since December 17, 2016.

Waggener has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Bullitt East, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Waggener will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Oldham at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. South Oldham has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 220 points over their last three games. Bullitt East and Pisgah will round out the year against one another at at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Pisgah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Bullitt East likes a good challenge.
