Baseball Game Preview: Goodhue Wildcats vs. Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms

The Goodhue Wildcats will head out to challenge the Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Things were looking good for Goodhue after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 7-3 to Lourdes. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Blooming Prairie hadn't done well against United South Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Awesome Blossoms walked away with a 7-4 win over the Rebels. The victory was familiar territory for the Awesome Blossoms, who have now won three games in a row.

Goodhue's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Blooming Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Everything went Goodhue's way against Blooming Prairie when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Goodhue made off with a 17-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
