Baseball Recap: Pueblo Has No Trouble Against Amphitheater

After only one run in their last game, Pueblo made sure to put some runs up on the board against Amphitheater on Tuesday. The Pueblo Warriors put the hurt on the Amphitheater Panthers with a sharp 28-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Roman Otero made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Arian Roman was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Roberto Alday, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Pueblo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Amphitheater only posted an OBP of .400.

The victory got Pueblo back to even at 1-1. As for Amphitheater, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Pueblo will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Douglas at 4:00 p.m. Douglas will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Pueblo surely won't give up without a fight. As for Amphitheater, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Amphitheater Panthers duke it out with Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
