Softball Game Preview: Moore Haven Terriers vs. Frostproof Bulldogs

Moore Haven hasn't had much luck against Frostproof recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Moore Haven Terriers will be playing at home against the Frostproof Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Moore Haven will be strutting in after a victory while Frostproof will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Monday, it was close, but Moore Haven sidestepped Southwest Florida Christian for a 3-1 win. The Terriers haven't had any issues with the King's recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Preslynn Baker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Baker was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Baker wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Sergent, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Frostproof was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Hardee. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Moore Haven now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Frostproof, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Moore Haven suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Frostproof when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Moore Haven avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
