Baseball Recap: Council Rock North Falls Short of Avon Grove in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Council Rock North can now relate to. They fell just short of the Avon Grove Red Devils by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The Indians' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Council Rock North got a good showing from Will Godonis, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the first time Godonis hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in April.

On the hitting side, Council Rock North saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Rizzo, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Council Rock North's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Avon Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.

As of now, neither Council Rock North nor the Red Devils have any future games scheduled.
