Basketball Recap: Three Straight Home Wins for Sebring

Sebring had won two straight home games and Molly Jane Zwayer did her part to make it three on Friday. The Sebring Blue Streaks snuck past the Victory Christian Academy Storm with a 58-53 win thanks in part to Zwayer, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Victory Christian Academy lost, don't look at Jade Grier. Despite the final result, she went 7 for 14 on her way to 22 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Those seven steals gave Grier a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bianca Barroso, who posted seven points and four steals.

Sebring's record is now 9-4. As for Victory Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Sebring and Victory Christian Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Sebring will take on DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 141 places (244 vs. 103). Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy (ranked 206th) will meet Trinity Catholic (ranked 48th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
