Baseball Recap: Illini West Picks Up 16th Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Illini West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Wesley Robertson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Shawn Watkins Jr. also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Illini West's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Quincy Notre Dame, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
