Baseball Game Preview: Tallwood Lions vs. Bayside Marlins

The Tallwood Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Bayside Marlins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Tallwood came up short against First Colonial and fell 6-1.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bayside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Salem 18-10 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Marlins considering their one-run performance the match before.

Jeremiah Rivera was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Rivera was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Rivera wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Barry Farias Jr, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Farias Jr a new career-high. William ?Austin? Blakesley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bayside's record is now 5-7. As for Tallwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Tallwood might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Bayside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
