Volleyball Recap: Plainfield North Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Plainfield North took on Neuqua Valley on Monday. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Plainfield North sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 25-23.

Nolan Riley paced Plainfield North's offense, picking up 12 kills. Riley got some help from Joey cavlovic and his 37 assists. Sean Jansen controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Plainfield North's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Neuqua Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-9.

Coming up, Plainfield North will face off against Romeoville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Neuqua Valley, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Naperville North on the 6th.
