Preview: Dumas vs. Star City
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Dumas. They will be playing at home against Star City at at 7:00 PM on Friday. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
After a string of five wins, Dumas's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 8-38 walloping at Warren's hands. A silver lining for Dumas was the play of junior Chris Harris, who accumulated 254 passing yards and picked up 61 yards on the ground. If you haven't heard Harris's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past six games.
Meanwhile, Star City have to be aching after a bruising 6-27 loss to Hamburg. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Star City.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the victory. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
