Baseball Recap: Cooper Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Cooper faced off against Ludlow on Monday. The Jaguars came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 11-7. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Brogan Scott made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Ryker Campbell was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Cole Baesel was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cooper hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Cooper's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Ludlow, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Cooper will be playing in front of their home fans against Scott at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ludlow, they will head out to challenge Bellevue at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
