Softball Recap: St. Francis Takes a Loss

St. Francis extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They came up short against the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning, falling 15-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Mariners were not able to get on the board.

As for Lake Country Lutheran, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

For Lake Country Lutheran's part, Grace Sonnleitner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sonnleitner was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lake Country Lutheran got a massive performance out of Katelyn Meulendyke, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kierstyn Black, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
