Basketball Preview: EPIC Academy The Legends vs. South Shore International Tars
The EPIC Academy The Legends will head out on the road to square off against the South Shore International Tars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. EPIC Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Wednesday, EPIC Academy came up short against the Broncos and fell 65-53.
Despite their loss, EPIC Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Antwan Donley, who scored 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Donley has scored all season. RayQuan Woods was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
South Shore International fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 51-35 win over Solorio on Thursday.
EPIC Academy's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for South Shore International, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-18.
EPIC Academy strolled past the Tars when the teams last played back in February of 2022 by a score of 66-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for EPIC Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
