Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Michigan Lutheran Seminary + How To Watch

Calvary Baptist Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Michigan Lutheran Seminary Cardinals on Tuesday. The Kings haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Calvary Baptist Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Gauge Roy, who shot 41% from the field on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Braydon Schwartzkopf, who went 6-for-14 en route to 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Noah Reif went supernova For Michigan Lutheran Seminary., dropping a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards. Those 20 points gave Reif a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Kober, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Looking ahead, Calvary Baptist Academy will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Atherton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Michigan Lutheran Seminary, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Ithaca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Cardinals their first taste of in-conference action this season.
