Basketball Recap: Gary Comes Up Short

Gary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 62-43 to the Timpson Bears. The Bobcats were down 48-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timpson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Stewart, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Stewart is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. Natalie Johnson was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.

Gary's defeat dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Timpson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-13 record this season.

Gary will head out on the road to challenge Elysian Fields at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpson has already played their next match (against Waskom), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
