Basketball Preview: Shady Spring Tigers vs. PikeView Panthers
Shady Spring is 1-9 against the Panthers since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Shady Spring Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the PikeView Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Shady Spring comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
On Friday, Shady Spring ended up a good deal behind the Patriots and lost 54-36.
Despite the loss, Shady Spring had strong showings from Skyler Gibson, who scored five points along with five steals, and Kendall Lilly, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Gibson grabbed two or more steals.
Even though they lost, Shady Spring smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, PikeView's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 40-30 to Princeton.
Shady Spring dropped their record down to 0-15 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for PikeView, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
Shady Spring took a serious blow against the Panthers when the teams last played last Wednesday, falling 65-27. Can Shady Spring avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
