Soccer Recap: Hoffman Estates Takes a Loss

Hoffman Estates was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elk Grove Grenadiers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hoffman Estates of the 5-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Hoffman Estates now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Elk Grove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7.

Hoffman Estates and Elk Grove could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Hawks will take on Fremd at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (209 vs. 38). Meanwhile, Elk Grove (ranked 243rd) will meet Hersey (ranked 93rd) at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
