Softball Recap: Valley Takes a Loss

Valley extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-10 in the process. They came up short against the Pleasure Ridge Park Panthers, falling 24-0. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Pleasure Ridge Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Considering they have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Pleasure Ridge Park's part, Alyssa Sinnott was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sinnott has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kendra Lee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylie Barker, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pleasure Ridge Park beat Valley by a score of 21-0 later that day.
