Baseball Game Preview: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Hemet Bulldogs

The Moreno Valley Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Hemet Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Moreno Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Hemet's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Moreno Valley didn't have quite enough to beat La Quinta and fell 2-1. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hemet ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Orange Vista, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since March 17th.

The team relied heavily on Cohen Joiner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Mathew Gregory, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Moreno Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hemet, their record is now 8-10.

Moreno Valley might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Hemet in their previous matchup back in May of 2021. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
