Volleyball Recap: Potosi's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Potosi lost against Shullsburg back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Chieftains fell 3-1 to the Miners. The loss put an end to the Chieftains' undefeated start to the season.

The final score came out to 25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Potosi still got an impressive performance from Kylee Droessler, who had 27 digs. Another player making a difference was Emily Schaefer, who had 16 digs.

Isabelle Wiegel was a one-woman wrecking crew For Shullsburg. as she had 43 digs and one assist. Those 43 digs gave Wiegel a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Potosi fell to 3-1. As for Shullsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Potosi will take on rival Cassville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Shullsburg is set to challenge their familiar foe Belmont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
