Softball Preview: Milford Tigers vs. Piute Thunderbirds
For the first time this season, Milford will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They will welcome the Piute Thunderbirds at 3:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Milford's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Piute has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Milford's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over North Summit. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Jaidyn McMullin made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
