Baseball Game Preview: Colleton County Cougars vs. Beaufort Eagles

Colleton County hasn't had much luck against Beaufort recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Colleton County fell victim to May River and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Sharks.

Meanwhile, Beaufort didn't have quite enough to beat Bluffton on Friday and fell 4-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Sellers Lynn made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marion Simmons, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Colleton County's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Beaufort, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Colleton County suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Beaufort in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
