There are stunners. Then there was the Manvel (Texas) 58-53 win over Duncanville in the Texas 5A state finals Saturday in Austin.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Brianna Turner had 17 points and 17 rebounds as Manvel ended the top-ranked Pantherettes' 105-game win streak.

The Notre Dame-bound star scored all of her points after halftime.

Texas-bound Ariel Atkins led Duncanville (35-1) with 24 points, but she fouled out early in the fourth quarter. Jordan Hosey and Rangie Bessard combined for 24 points for Manvel (38-2).

It was the first title for Manvel, while Duncanville had its streak of two state titles ended. Four Duncanville players fouled out.

The Pantherettes, who hadn't lost since Dec. 3 of 2011, were No. 1 in the national MaxPreps computer rankings.

"They all expected us to lose," Turner told reporters after the game. "Duncanville is a great team with great players. I wanted this so bad. It was my last high school game and I just won a state championship."
