Baseball Recap: Wetumka Sets Scoring Season-High Against Wewoka

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wetumka). They came out on top against the Wewoka Tigers by a score of 21-18 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chieftains as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Wetumka let Chaydan Flanagan and Josh Lee run wild. Flanagan scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, while Lee scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave Lee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dario Sila, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

Wetumka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wetumka's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Wewoka, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Wetumka has already played their next contest (against Paden), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
