Basketball Recap: Holmdel Has No Trouble Against Raritan

Holmdel won the last time they faced Raritan and things went their way on Saturday too. The Holmdel Hornets put the hurt on the Raritan Rockets with a sharp 59-34 win. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Rockets are ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holmdel has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Raritan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holmdel will head out to take on Rumson-Fair Haven at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Rumson-Fair Haven has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Raritan, they will head out on the road to face off against Keansburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Raritan is facing Keansburg at the right time seeing as Keansburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
