Baseball Recap: Jackson-Reed Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Jackson-Reed ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Landon Bears 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won four contests in a row.

Zander Leckszas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, Jackson-Reed got a great performance from Nelson Hayes as he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Hayes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Loomis, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Freeman Hunt, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Jackson-Reed's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Landon, they moved to 9-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
