Basketball Game Preview: Fort Mill Yellow Jackets vs. Catawba Ridge Copperheads

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Catawba Ridge Copperheads at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Fort Mill will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Fort Mill didn't have too much trouble with Nation Ford as they won 51-36. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Falcons are ranked 66th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Mill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Parker, who posted 16 points. The game was Parker's third in a row with at least ten points. Wallace Campbell was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Catawba Ridge came up short against Clover on Tuesday and fell 46-39.

Fort Mill pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Catawba Ridge, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Fort Mill was able to grind out a solid victory over Catawba Ridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 56-43. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Catawba Ridge's Mark Caslaru, who went 9 of 13 on his way to 22 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Fort Mill still be able to contain Caslaru? There's only one way to find out.
