Baseball Recap: Jena Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jena can now relate to. They fell just short of the Doyle Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Giants have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Collin Jensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Jena saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoyle Gemar, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Jena's defeat dropped their record down to 22-12. As for Doyle, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-16-1.

Doyle has already played their next contest (against Erath), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jena will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' matchup: after the Tigers face off against the Bobcats, they'll take on Jena again at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
