Soccer Recap: Winterset Comes Up Short

Winterset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Gilbert Tigers, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Winterset can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Gilbert are ranked 37th).

Winterset's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Gilbert, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2-1.

Winterset has already played their next match (against Saydel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Gilbert, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Earlham on the 25th.
