Basketball Recap: Foothill Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Foothill won the last time they faced Mira Monte, and Jayda Green did her part to make sure it happened again. The Foothill Trojans skirted past the Mira Monte Lions 52-49 thanks in part to Green, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 14 boards, and nine steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

The team also got some help courtesy of Marihya Portis, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played.

Foothill's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-6. As for Mira Monte, their loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Foothill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 45-36 win against West on the 10th. As for Mira Monte, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-19 defeat against Golden Valley on the 10th.
