Basketball Game Preview: St. George's Gryphons vs. First Assembly Christian Crusaders

St. George hasn't had much luck against First Assembly Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The St. George's Gryphons just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the First Assembly Christian Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. First Assembly Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on St. George's, who comes in off a win.

St. George's took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Evangelical Christian 64-41. The Gryphons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, First Assembly Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 59-39 to Evangelical Christian.

St. George's will need focus on slowing down Kylan Alexander, one of several First Assembly Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Goss, who had 11 points and five boards.

St. George's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for First Assembly Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

St. George's might still be hurting after the 70-49 loss they got from First Assembly Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can St. George's avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
