Foard is a perfect 6-0 against East Burke since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Foard Tigers will be playing at home against the East Burke Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. The last three games Foard has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Having struggled with four losses in a row dating back to last season, Foard turned things around against St. Stephens on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Indians a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 25, 2024.

Karsyn Sigmon made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Mattie Leonhardt was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Burke). They put the hurt on Newton-Conover with a sharp 15-1 win on Tuesday. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Karlie Micol spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kyndal Morrison, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Raegan Carter, who scored a run while going 4-for-5.
East Burke hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
East Burke's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Foard, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
East Burke's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Foard has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for East Burke, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will Foard keep running through batters, or will East Burke buck the trend?
Foard beat East Burke 6-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Will Foard repeat their success, or does East Burke have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
