Perry-Lecompton's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Lawrence Free State Firebirds. The Kaws' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Olivia Hart made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Hart was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Autumn Flory, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Meaa Allen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Perry-Lecompton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

Perry-Lecompton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lawrence Free State, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry-Lecompton will host Sabetha at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Perry-Lecompton's pitchers better be ready for this one: Sabetha has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Lawrence Free State, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Spring Hill at 1:30 p.m. on the 18th.
