Softball Recap: Dublin Takes a Loss

Dublin was the 7-0 winner over Carondelet when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gaels fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 16-15 on Tuesday. Even if the Gaels couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Sydney Salazar led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Kensington Abrew, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Dublin's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Carondelet, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dublin will face off against Heritage at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carondelet, they will challenge Monte Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
